Phil Whitehurst

Phil founded the company in 1997 and has grown the company from a small bedroom to an 8000 square feet facility in Poole that now exports to over 40 countries worldwide, turning over more than £2M / annum. He enjoys trekking at high altitudes, has run well over 40 marathons including the six world major series.

Michele Whitehurst

Meet our Director, Michele Whitehurst, who along with husband Phil, runs the business. Michele is also a Governor of a local hospital. She is very active and enjoys travelling, trekking, aerobics, running, speed walking, yoga and gardening. She is even a Six-Star World Major Marathon Holder!

Lesley Keets

Lesley has a hand in all aspects of the business, with a focus on running the operation smoothly. She has guided the Company to become an award-winning manufacturer with a strong brand and reputation. Lesley enjoys travelling and adventures with her Staffie and French Bulldog, walking in the Dorset countryside.

Grant Bradley

Grant heads up the engineering team, he is constantly developing new, innovative products which meet customer expectations. He works closely with our suppliers to define new requirements and keep projects on track. Grant enjoys the outdoors, loves travelling and is a keen photographer. He is a Formula 1 fan and enjoys spending downtime relaxing with his family exploring the New Forest and surrounds.

Robin Richards

Robin is responsible for ensuring all Engineering projects run as efficiently as possible and in a timely manner. When not looking for ways to improve the project process he can be found watching football and baseball or listening to music or travelling through Europe.

Andy Campbell

Andy works closely with our Head of Engineering to keep the engineering department organised and focused on advancing our existing Actisense products whilst also developing new, next generation products. Andy is a keen space enthusiast, military tank fan and is also an avid football player, playing 6-a-side football twice a week.

Maurice Ambridge

Maurice is responsible for the electronics hardware design of the products including research & development, CAD design, prototyping building and conformance testing working closely with Grant. When not sitting in front of an oscilloscope or soldering iron, he can be found tinkering in his garage workshop, cycling, canoeing or relaxing in a hammock next to a camp-fire.

Aidan Batten

Aidan is our Hardware Engineer and is responsible for assisting the Senior Hardware Engineer with research, design and development of products and test equipment, along with PCB design, testing and maintenance. Outside of work Aidan enjoys attending Motorsport events, and has a keen interest in music.

Douglas Thomson

Doug works with the engineering team, assisting with product design, testing, documentation and manufacturing of new products. Doug is a keen and talented saxophone player and he plays in a local big band.

Marek Synowiec

Marek is a senior software engineer responsible for maintaining current products, developing new features, fixing bugs and overseeing our version control and continuous integration systems. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, scuba diving and powerlifting.

Floyd Park

Floyd is our Software Engineer responsible for assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of our products by designing tests, fixing bugs, and developing new features. Floyd enjoys strategy games, reading science fiction, and discovering new music.

Mark Glover

Mark is the brains behind the production database and developed the entire programme from scratch. The sophisticated system tracks stock, shipping, sample devices, production history and device history. Mark is a keen sportsman and will ride to work on his bike or run in, often going to the gym aswell.

Divya Sooraj Menon

Divya is our Test Engineer and she is responsible for the quality assurance of all software and embedded firmware projects, and designing and implementing the testcases with the development team. Divya loves traveling, music and spending time with her family.

Nimit Khanna

Nimit is a technology enthusiast and is responsible for developing and managing chatbot and data-driven applications for Actisense. In his spare time, Nimit is the fastest and most dexterous chef at home, who also loves to travel across Europe and listen to techno music.

Steve Drane

Steve is our Tech Support Engineer who is responsible for resolving technical issues for our customers and installers. Steve enjoys walking his dogs, playing video games, teaching himself new instruments and watching any movies he can get it hands on.

Justin Cohen

Justin leads on all company sales & marketing matters, making sure our customers know all about our solutions, while also acting as brand guardian for the Actisense brand. Justin spends his spare time disturbing his poor neighbours by playing his piano, guitar and drums (not necessarily at the same time).

Dawn Carter

Dawn is the Actisense book keeper and is responsible for keeping a track on what the company is spending and why. Her other duties include balancing accounts, sales and purchase ledger, completing VAT returns and dealing with financial paperwork and filing. Dawn is a keen runner and takes part in the Poole Parkrun at the weekend.

Beth Soden

As the Sales and Marketing coordinator, Beth is the go-to person for most customer queries. Beth enjoys being creative in her role within the marketing department, but also goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Outside of work, Beth is a keen foodie and volunteers for rare condition charity, Ataxia and Me.

Maria Wright

Maria is our Customer Service officer who deals with all aspects of customer inquiries and sales administration. In her spare time, she likes spending time with her family or at a live music venue somewhere in Europe.

Josh Keets

Josh is an important member of our team, acting as a conduit between the engineering and commercial teams. He helps produce industry-leading content to help & inspire our customers. When not at work, Josh is either in a car, working on a car or looking at more parts for his car. You could say he has a slight addiction to cars.

Ornella Money

Ornella is our Office/HR Administrator and is responsible for providing administrative service across all aspects of the business with a strong emphasis on HR and management systems. Outside of work Ornella enjoys travelling, hiking, fitness classes and has a passion for music and cooking.

Amy Miles

Amy is our Compliance Manager, ensuring we uphold our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard, also implementing lean and continuous improvement practises to ensure the business is as productive and efficient as it can be. Amy enjoys Surfing in her spare time as well as being outdoors exploring our beautiful Jurassic coast!

Amie Wells

Amie is our sales account executive and looks after our customers around the world, from receiving orders through to dealing with any questions. Outside of work, her main hobbies are photography, graphic design and playing video games.

Peta Currell

Peta is our Compliance Officer, supporting our Compliance Manager in ensuring that we uphold our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard. Peta is a keen runner, having completed her first half marathon, as well keeping active with cycling, walking and paddleboarding. You can also find Peta touring around historical sites of interest with family and friends.

Mark Pay

Mark has overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Operations and Production team. In his spare time he races ride-on lawnmowers with a local club which raises money for charities, so he can usually be found tinkering in his workshop, beer in hand.

Gerard Herriman

Gerard joined our team to proactively build up strong relationships with suppliers and ensure that component parts are ordered to meet our market demands. In his spare time, Gerard enjoys boxing, paddle-boarding and is a big fan of F1.

Krzysztof Raczka

​Krzysztof has been with the company since 2008, he's a production supervisor and one of his main responsibilities is management of production and quality targets. Also to ensure the smooth running of the production processes. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family. He's huge fan of heavy metal and mixed martial arts.

Dominic Lipinski

Dominic is part of the production team and is responsible for the assembly and testing of our products. Dominic is a keen football supporter and is a big Liverpool fan. He also likes attending gigs and music festivals.

Jonathan Redford

Clare Ambridge

Clare has been with the company since 2014 and in this time has become a very useful member of the Actisense team supporting production with the preparations and build work. In Clare's free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to festivals and seeing bands.

Ossian Wright

"Ozzy" is a member of our production team, helping build our extensive product range. He's a keen music fan and enjoys watching live concerts and films, as well as long walks in the woods or on our local beaches.

Richard Bishop

Richard is a member of our production team, helping build our extensive product range. When not spending time with his dog, as a keen gamer, Richard is into tabletop and video games, as well as enjoying TV series and anime.
